Finding the Right Binder for Your Needs
Three ring binders allow you to present professional-looking reports and proposals. You can use them to organize your school work. And with binders, you can store records and files in a way that is easily accessible. But which binder is right for you? That depends on the answers to a few questions:
What size paper will you be using?
Most offices only use standard letter size documents. binders, But law offices may prefer a legal size binder. International business may require an A4 size document.
How many pages will it need to hold?
An overstuffed binder looks sloppy; but too much space looks wasteful. A general rule of thumb is 100 sheets for every half inch. But an inch binder will hold 100 sheets much more easily than a half inch binder, and there will be room for additional pages.
Will the pages you need for this project grow?
Consider how much you will add in the future. A business proposal will probably stay the same, but employee records or a recipe collection are likely to grow. Whether or not you need room for future documents will affect the type of binder you select.
What about page protectors or index tabs?
And do you want to conceal these or make them visible to the outside?
Who will require access?
If this is a group project, each member of the group may want his or her own binder for the individual portion. If it’s just for you, it may be ok to have one big binder.
